Ida Fisher was appointed to the Board of the Ulster-Scots Agency in December 2011.
Ida is currently employed with Donegal County Council as Project Officer on an Interrig IVA Capital Project for Lifford and Strabane.
Ida has been working with Donegal County Council since 1978 and has gained valuable experience in the Housing Offices, Rates Office, Finance Department and in the Motor Tax Office.
Ida has a Diploma in Local Government Studies from NUI Maynooth, a Higher Certificate in Arts (Community Studies) from Letterkenny Institute of Technology and Certificates in Social Inclusion and Communication Skills.
In terms of community and voluntary activity Ida works within her own area as a volunteer literacy tutor on a one to one basis with people with literacy difficulties on behalf of Donegal VEC Adult Education Department and conducts programmes through Junior Achievement Ireland tailored to a specific age group, on a voluntary basis through local National Schools.
Ida is involved in holding fundraising events in aid of Donegal Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Society.
She is an active member of her local church in the Parish of Taughboyne and a member of the Select Vestry.
Over the past number of years Ida has sat on the Management Committee of St.Johnston and Carrigans Family Resource Centre, Raphoe Central School and Raphoe Royal & Prior School.
