Valentine (known as Val) is a native of Enniskillen, County Fermanagh and has been living in Bundoran, county Donegal since 1967.
Val is a Social Science and Social Work Graduate of UCD and TCD, Dublin.
She has spent her professional life with the North Western Health Board as a Senior Manager in the Childcare field. She has worked in a professional and voluntary capacity with many local and national voluntary groups in the Social Work and Community sector.
She is a Director of Erne Enterprise Development Group, Ballyshannon, Chairperson of Tirhugh Resource Centre, Ballyshannon, Director of Abbey Community Arts Centre, Ballyshannon, member of the Social Work Registration Board under Coru, RoI and a member of Donegal Historical Society.
She has just completed a five year term as a member of the Governing Body of Letterkenny Institute of Technology.
