Learning about your Ulster-Scots Culture

With the current interest in all things Ulster-Scots and the current threats to our culture, why not learn a little more about your real and full heritage and culture.

The Ulster-Scots Community Network has developed courses (accredited and recreational) as an enjoyable way for you to learn about your culture, about your origins and your heritage. 

This Course will run in the Regional Office in Raphoe

From 10th November to 8th December - 7.30 to 10pm

Course is FOC (Accreditation through Open College Network NI)

            LEVEL 2 -The Impact of Ulster-Scots on Ulster 

This Level 2 course is designed to provide a deeper, more detailed view of Ulster-Scots history and culture.  An important element of the course is interactivity, with debates on cultural perceptions, a quiz and even a music/poetry section.

 Discussion is always encouraged – and always lively. 

Topics include:

·         17th Century Plantation of Ulster

·         17th Century Ulster Evolving Religiously and Politically

·         18th- 19th Century Ulster

·         The formation of the Loyal Orders

·          Home Rule

·         The Covenant,

·         The Diaspora,

 

·         Ulster-Scots today
