13 July 2012

Derryclavin Pipe Band is celebrating 90 years on the road this year. To highlight this achievement the band had a Musical Anniversary Concert in the Ardhowen Theatre Enniskillen on the 16 March, 2012.

The band received its name from the town land in which it is situated.  Derryclavin is just outside the village of Lisbellaw, five miles outside Enniskillen.  The Band is proud wearers of the Royal Stewart tartan, and wears the Stewart crest as a cap badge.  The current Pipe Major is Gordon McKeown from Lisbellaw, who is following in his Father’s footsteps, Cecil who was also Pipe Major.  Pipe Sergeant is Rodney Brownlee and leading tip is Richard Moore.  Drum Majors David Brownlee - 2010 Senior Champion of Champions Drum Major and Lauren McKeown.  The Band is in Grade 4A of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association and although competition work does not feature strongly in the bands engagements, they always put on a good performance where ever they are invited to play.

Copies of the CD are available to purchase from any band member or by contacting Pipe Major Gordon McKeown on 07729472935.

At the recent 90th Anniversary band parade in Lisbellaw the band raised £750.00 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
