Kintra

21 June 2018

Begins Sunday 1 July BBC Radion Ulster 6pm

Helen Mark presents Kintra, BBC Radio Ulster’s brand new weekly Ulster-Scots magazine programme, which begins on Sunday 1 July at 6pm.

Over the coming weeks and months Helen and friends will be bringing listeners news, stories, music and chat from all over Northern Ireland and beyond, as well as keeping everyone up-to-date on what’s happening in the world of Ulster-Scots.

In this debut programme there will be music from Diana Culbertson and the acclaimed Dalriada choir, while Rab Lennox opens the Banterbox, and there’s a sneak preview of the up-coming reivers tattoo.

Helen Mark says: “So many people in Northern Ireland have Scottish connections, be they historic or modern day, and that enduring cultural connection is something to celebrate.

‘Whether it’s family and heritage, language and music, culture and faith – there’s so much to celebrate and myself and the team look forward to doing a lot of that on Kintra.”
