22 November 2018

On Thursday 22nd November 2018, pupils from Lisfearty Primary School, Co Tyrone demonstrated their Scottish Country Dancing skills at a showcase event for staff and parents.

Lisfearty Primary School is taking part in the Ulster Scots Agency's Flagship School programme after having successfully completed an After School Club earlier in the year.

As part of the Flagship Programme, pupils chose Scottish Country Dance as the first of their three Flagship themes. Following an intensive 10 week tuition course led by dance tutor, Clayre Evans, the pupils showcased their skills at this event that included some participation from the parents who attended.

During the event, pupils were also presented with Scottish Country Dance Certificates from the Ulster-Scots Agency's Education Officer, Gary Blair. During the presentation he paid tribute to the dedication of the pupils, staff and tutor, and expressed his thanks to everyone involved in making the project such a success.
