Publish Date Announced for ‘Oot an Aboot’...

10 May 2011

Work is currently underway on the third edition of the community magazine ‘Oot an Aboot’ and the Agency is pleased to announce that copies of the eagerly awaited publication will be available from Saturday May 28, 2011.

Over the Bank Holiday weekend of Saturday 28, Sunday 29 and Monday 30 May, the Agency will be showcasing at a range of events at various locations across the Province.

Visitors to the North Down Borough Council’s Ulster-Scots Day in Bangor (Saturday 28 May), the National Countrysports Fair in Moira (Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 May) and the Stormont Family Fun Day at Parliament Buildings, Belfast (Monday 30 May) are invited to come along and collect their free copy of the magazine.

The first and second editions of ‘Oot an Aboot’ magazine were a huge success, with a total of 40,000 copies being distributed over a two year period.  As before, the magazine will have a very strong community feel with the vast majority of content being contributed by members of the Ulster-Scots community.

Across Northern Ireland and border counties members of community and voluntary groups work tirelessly to promote Ulster-Scots within the community - ‘Oot an Aboot’ is a celebration of their ongoing commitment.  The Agency acknowledges without the support of the community, it would not be possible to keep our cultural Ulster-Scots traditions alive.
