Grant Funding Available from the Ulster-Scots Agency
The Agency has developed a range of grant aid programmes aimed at promoting and developing Ulster-Scots language, culture and traditions. Funding is available to individuals, voluntary and community groups and non-profit making organisations that carry out activities in line with the Agency’s aims and objectives and would not otherwise have the necessary resources. The Ulster-Scots Agency offers funding under the Financial Assistance Scheme to include Financial Assistance Scheme Small Grants and Partnership funding; Festival funding; Summer School funding; Music and Dance Tuition funding and Capacity Building and Community Development Programme.
Financial Assistance Scheme
This is a rolling application therefore there is no closing date and applications can be made at anytime during the year. There are three possible awards:
The type of projects that fall within these can be one-off events such as Burns night celebrations, dance competitions, concerts, research, drama, events etc. Our deadline for receipt of fully completed applications including all additional documentation is two calendar months before the commencement of the event. Festivals
The Agency may provide grant support for a range of Ulster-Scots festivals from small community initiatives to major festival events with international appeal.
Ulster-Scots Summer Schools
The Agency can provide support, encouragement and financial assistance to Ulster-Scots community groups who intend to provide an Ulster-Scots summer school for children within their communities aged 7 to 16 years. This is a staged application process with applications only being processed once a year.
Music and Dance Tuition
This programme seeks to provide support and encouragement through financial assistance to constituted Voluntary and Community Groups who intend to offer to the community Ulster-Scots music and dance tuition.
Community Impact Programme
The Ulster-Scots Community Impact Programme has been devised by the Ulster-Scots Agency to build capacity and support community development within the Ulster-Scots community. The Agency has acknowledged the need to assist Ulster-Scots communities to build skills, support networking and stimulate the creation of community and cultural confidence. Applications are invited from not for profit community and or voluntary groups to apply for the Ulster-Scots Community Impact Grant, to employ a full time Ulster-Scots Development officer and implement an Ulster-Scots Community Plan.
