Scad the Beggars are a 6-piece group from North Antrim, who play music and song popular in the Ulster Scots Tradition. For the past 20 years they have hosted two weekly Causeway Coast sessions and play a wide variety of instruments, including some more unusual ones like Northumbrian Pipes, Hammered Dulcimer, Fife and English Concertina. Alongside them will be Toon Folk who play a variety of instruments, but mostly Fiddles & Whistles, but also, Piano Accordion, Mandolin, Banjo & Bodhran. Naturally, their material is all Scottish/Ulster-Scots & one of the team is also fine ballad singer, so their set would include a couple of songs.
