Cairncastle Ulster Scots Folk Festival 10th Anniversary.
The Festival commences on Wednesday 28th July to Sunday 1st August 2010, held in a large Marquee in Cairncastle village, 4 miles north of Larne.
This years festival has been extended by one extra day to celebrate the 10th anniversary. The festival has now grown from a one day event to five days, attracting musicians from Scotland, England, Donegal and America.
It is now one of the largest Ulster Scots Folk Festivals in N.Ireland.
Wednesday 28th July
A Plantation and East West Settlements workshop on Wednesday afternoon led by Dr. Fraser Agnew in Larne Museum & Arts Centre from 2pm - 4pm
Folk Concert on Wednesday evening in Cairncastle village will consist of local musicians Robert Logan, The Famous Grousebeaters, Cairncastle Highland Dancers, The Young Yins, The Island Fiddlers, Aughafatten Accordion Orchestra & Cairncastle Flute Youth Folk Band commencing at 7.30 pm.
Thursday 29th July
Ulster Scots Language Workshop on Thursday afternoon led by Anne Morrison - Smith in Larne Museum & Arts Centre from 2pm - 4pm
Also on Thursday afternoon in Cairncastle Presbyterian Church Hall will be an Old Time Dancing from 2pm - 4pm, music by Limewood Four.
Folk Concert on Thursday evening in Cairncastle village. Comprising Charlie Gillen, Lyttle Family Folk Band, Rising Stour, Transatlantic Hillbilly Band, Rightly On Folk Band & Bright Light Dancers commencing at 7.30pm
Friday 30th July
An Ulster Scots Musical Bus tour on Friday. Visiting Ulster - Scots centre in Ballymoney & historic landmarks/monuments on the East Antrim Coast - North of Larne. From 10am to 5pm

Folk Concert on Friday evening in Cairncastle village. Comprising Tony Collins, Maiden City Beat, Karyn Mac (West coast of Scotland), Schomberg Fife & Drum, Schomberg Folk Orchestra, Kirknarra School of Dance, Donegal fiddlers and Whitlees Folk Band (West coast of Scotland) commencing at 7.30pm
Saturday 31st July
A Musical workshop on Saturday afternoon in Cairncastle Presbyterian Church Hall, where musicians will be introduced to additional instruments from both the Irish and Ulster-Scots cultures from 2pm - 4pm
Also on Saturday afternoon in Cairncastle village will be a Musical History Workshop, where musicians will discuss instruments from both the Irish and Ulster Scots cultures from 2pm - 4pm
A Traditional Soiree on Saturday evening in Cairncastle village, featuring 40 musicians playing traditional music from West Coast of Scotland, N.Ireland and Southern Ireland commencing at 7.30pm
Scottish Country Dancing in the Halfway House Hotel Ballygally from 9.30pm
Sunday 1st August
Festival closes with a non denominational Ulster Scots Praise Service on Sunday afternoon at 2.30pm.
