Ards and North Down Borough Council are hosting Leid and Lairn: Soda and Stories ahead of Ulster-Scots Language Week 2024.

When: Saturday 26 October, 2-4pm

Join Lolly Spence at a drop-in poetry workshop looking at the Ulster-Scots language through old and new poems, the words and their meanings. Why not have a go at writing a limerick, haiku or short verse of your own using our local Ulster-Scots words?
There'll also be opportunities to see the basic everyday items used by the family who lived in the traditional whitewashed thatched fisherman’s cottage and enjoy some warm soda bread straight from the griddle.
This event is part of Ards & North Down Borough Council's Leid and Lairn Festival, celebrating Ulster-Scots language and heritage.
