Runs to 31 January 2025
Not So Serious Burns is a 30-minute theatre-in-education play on the life and work of poet Robert Burns.
The play welcomes audiences into Rabbie’s world as we meet his wife Jean and best friend Archie as they join him on stage. Burns remembers his first poem that he wrote at the age of 15 – Once I Lov’d a Bonny Lass – and sings a version of his poem, My Love Is Like A Red, Red Rose.
Combining music, drama, poetry, song and Highland dance, as well as incorporating the Ulster-Scots and Scots language, Not So Serious Burns is a fast-paced entertaining experience.
Not So Serious Burns will run from 17-31 January 2025, for 25 performances in schools and community venues across NI and ROI.
This event is part of Bready Ulster-Scots' Burns Festival 2025 which takes place from 17-31 January. A full programme of events is available to view here.
