The Ulster-Scots Agency’s Chief Executive Ian Crozier said the Agency is delighted to support the News Letter’s annual Festival of Marching Bands again in 2013; this fantastic event is now in its fifth consecutive year is one of the most eagerly awaited events on the Marching Bands calendar!

The Festival of Marching Bands is an excellent opportunity to showcase a very strong Ulster-Scots cultural tradition linked to the marching bands scene and the world-class skills of many excellent musicians. The Agency supports local communities to develop music and dance skills in their area, by funding the delivery of tuition programmes. Many of the bands performing this evening will have delivered community based Ulster-Scots tuition programmes and this tuition will have enhanced the skills of many of the performers on stage to enable them to showcase their collective talents for us all here tonight.
