News Letter Festival of Marching Bands 2009

On Thursday 26th November, 2009 at 7.30pm the News Letter will hold its inaugural concert, in conjunction with the Ulster Bands Forum, showcasing popular marching band music from some of Northern Ireland`s favourite flute, accordion and silver bands.

The evening will be compèred by Dan Gordon.

As a sponsor of this event, the Ulster-Scots Agency will have an information stand in the foyer at the Ulster Hall.  A range of Ulster-Scots literature and promotional items will be available on the night.   

The eight Bands performing are:

• Dunloy Accordion Band, Ballymoney;
• Mourne Young Defenders Flute Band, Kilkeel;
• William King Memorial Flute Band, Londonderry;
• Cookstown Sons of William Flute Band;
• Ballykeel Loyal Sons of Ulster, Ballymena;
• Kilcluney Volunteers Flute Band, Markethill;
• Gertrude Star Flute Band, East Belfast and
• Church Hill Silver Band, Fermanagh.

Tickets are priced at £15 each.
