"Stoor" [Stoor] Meaning: Dust
19 January 2011
The Ulster-Scots Agency is inviting applications from community and voluntary groups who have not previously engaged in fife and drum but who wish to undertake fife and drumming tuition between 4th April and 31st October 2011.
The Ulster-Scots Agency wishes to encourage groups to become involved in the promotion of this specific area of Ulster-Scots musical culture. As a result, the Agency has set aside a small tranche of funding (around £10k) to support this activity. The payment structure for this tuition would mirror the main music and dance tuition programme currently underway:
· The maximum number of weeks eligible for tuition will be 20 weeks.
· The maximum length of an eligible tuition session will be 2 hours.
· The maximum eligible tutor rate will be £20 per hour (€23.25)
· The maximum eligible funding for hall rental will be £30 per week (€34.88). Groups who use their own premises will not be eligible for funding for hall rental.
· Grant aid will be 75% of eligible costs.
The closing date for receipt of applications is 12 noon on 28th February 2011.
Support is available from the Ulster Scots Agency’s Grants Team and/or regional Development Officers, contact details are:
