A NEW ERA AT MONREAGH ULSTER SCOTS HERITAGE CENTRE
Things are gearing up for an exciting and busy year at Monreagh Ulster Scots / Scots Irish Heritage Centre! The Centre has been manned by selfless and hard-working volunteers since its opening in May 2009. From 1 July 2011 the centre will be receiving Core Funding from the Ulster-Scots Agency for 12 months. With this funding in place, the Centre has now recruited a new manager, historical consultant and administrator. more »

The Ulster-Scots Agency has published the next edition of the magazine ‘Oot an Aboot’. This is the third magazine to be published, and as with the first and second editions, members of the Ulster-Scots community played a major role in contributing the majority of the content for the magazine. more »

FUSE FM returning to Ballymoney on 20th June, 2011

Watch behind the scenes of 'Scahldies Up The Chimley' by Dan Gordon
Twenty-nine Primary Schools across Northern Ireland have taken part in the Pat & Plain drama project over the last three years. The response to all five of Dan Gordon’s plays has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic - in year 1, six schools presented The Boat Factory, then in year 2 twelve schools presented Kissing the Shuttle and A Lemonade Bottle for Clabberin’ Hitler. This year – the third year the Lyric Theatre and Ulster-Scots Agency have worked in partnership on the project, Dan turned his attention to school and country life in his fourth and fifth scripts: Sit There For The Present and Scahldies Up The Chimley, with a further 11 schools presenting drama productions. more »
